Spirit communication is profound, but it actually occures everyday of our lives. Often we are just too busy or too pre-occupied to take notice of what our departed loved ones or spirit guides are trying to convey.

How can I connect to my spirit guide?

Firstly it is beneficial to have some experience with meditation. Meditation enables you to still the mind .It stops the chatter, doubts and fears that are often created in the mind that not only prevent communication with spirit, but prevents you from accessing your goals and dreams.
Meditation enables you to focus your intention, of what ever it is that your are reaching to achieve. It maybe that you want to access stillness. Ideally it is beneficial to sit in the silence. The quiet is where we here so much. Over the following weeks I will introduce you to simple preparations that you can incorporate into your daily lives to enable you to reach your spirit guide/spirit communication. Yet as always there are guidelines and foundations to create before you just open up to spirit. Many people join a development circle that teaches ways to connect and communicate with spirit realms. Everyone has an ability to nurture a natural born gift available to us all. You may find that the following exercises give you a gentle intoduction to the path.

Meditation is incorporated into so many spiritual practises.
Here are some meditation practises that you may wish to try in the coming week.

Body awareness exercise

Sit upright in a chair with your hands on your lap with your palms facing upwards.
close your eyes
Become aware of where there is discomfort in the body. Start with the head by scrunching up your face muscles, then release
Tighten the shoulder and arm and hand muscles, then release, become aware of how relaxed you feel as you loosen the muscles
Make the back muscles ridgid, then release
Tighten the chest and stomach, then release
Tighten the buttocks and pelvis area then release
Tighten the leg and feet, then relax
Become aware of your breathing. Take a deep in breath through your nose, hold for a count of 3 then breathe out slowly
Repeat this three or four times until you feel the body begin to relax.

Many people do not breath properly. Many people are not conscious of the way they breathe. But as you begin this exercise you will become aware of any outstanding tension in the body. Just breathe into this area, then breathe out and relax. After a short period you will feel more relaxed.
When the body is relaxed it is able to access a deeper state of being and enable focus and intention to take place.

Focus your Energy
The next step involves placing a pen or pensil on a piece of paper. Then draw around the pen forming a circle or oval shape.
Now sit facing the pen enclosed in the circle ideally on a table.
Now focus all your energy and attention on the pencil.
Now move the pencil with your mind. To fullfil this exercise you need 100% consentration and can not be disturbed.
The power of the mind and focus will move the pencil, either floating or rolled across the paper and out of the circle.
